Steampipes buried in the flowerbeds provided heating for Sir Henry's exotic plants. The $12,000 stained glass dome was back lit by 600 lights. The floor is Italian marble, and the side panels are from a Bancroft Quarry. The swimming pool is directly underneath.

The distinctive bronze and glass doors leading into the conservatory are copies of a set made in New York for an Italian Villa. The Quarter-inch plate glass swings free so it can be easily cleaned. Each door at the time cost $10,000.
